What Is Your Favorite Band Named After An Automobile? Thanks to a friend’s Facebook post, it came to my attention that Galaxie 5. Massachusetts shoegaze band named after a Ford, turned 3. Maybe you disagree, but Galaxie 5. They’re particularly nice during lengthy, overnight treks.

Nothing too loud or frenetic, like My Bloody Valentine or Ride can get at times. So the Ford- themed name has always felt appropriate.
